BALASANTHA
As Ashtamy Vritha reaches Ekadashi, youngsters of Hattiangadi get ready to entertain the congregation. The exact purpose of introduction of the event eludes us, neverthless it is very interesting.
On Ekadashi, after the usual daily Mhantis, such as Nityaniyama, Navavidha Bhakthi, rather lengthy Ekadashi Mhanti follows. At one point the Bhajan singing stops and enter the Balasanthas...They dance, mimic and usually have rather hilarious dialogue with the people around. This is followed by Balasantha Bhajan, after which Balasanthas get prasad and then they depart.
